UMYF News, 9/22
Happy Thursday, everyone!
There are several announcements about upcoming events...and breaking news about the 2012 SKI TRIP below!
UMYF Sunday: Remember how we talked about making balloon animals last week? Well...guess what?!?! We're going to give it a try this Sunday. We'll also be making some very important posters...a prize of chocolate will be awarded to the best poster. SO, bring your creative brain with you! We'll also play games, have dinner, and answer the age-old question: What's knowledge really worth? See you from 6-8pm in the CLLC.
SKI TRIP 2010! We're headed back to Winterplace, January 13 - 16, 2012 for another memorable trip to the mountains. This year, the entire congregation is invited to join in our fun...so invite your family, neighbors, friends, and siblings to come along! The price per person is $265.00 and includes: lodging at the Country Inn and Suites, transportation, ski rental, lift tickets, and 5 meals. Those renting snowboards should plan to pay $30 extra. More information can be found on the Ski Trip bulletin boards, located at The Well service and on the bulletin board outside the sanctuary, near the copy room. A non-refundable deposit of $135 per person is due by November 1. Contact Elizabeth (eskogman@hibbenumc.org or 884-9761) for more info, or if you're interested in offsetting your trip cost via the youth scholarship fund or fundraising!

HELLO everyone! The past few weeks have been filled with special events, and this week, we'll be returning to our regular UMYF schedule. I hope you'll plan to join us in the CLLC on Sunday from 6-8pm for dinner, games, and an answer to this question: Are you brave enough to take a ride in a wheelbarrow? We'll find out on Sunday night!

THANK YOU!
Wow. It's been almost a week since last Sunday's SURPRISE wedding shower, and I still can't quite get over it. Did that really happen? Yes, apparently so. There are photos to prove it!
Thank you to everyone who had anything to do with the shower. Jeremy and I are so thankful for you and so humbled and appreciative for the outpouring of love that you showed us. It is so fun to be part of a group that shares sorrows and celebrates JOY. Thank you for the food, the games, the generous gifts, and most of all for keeping the secret a secret. It's a night we'll never forget.
Thanks to Jesse for these pictures. I sort of stole them from her Facebook page:
Here I am, quietly grilling Jeremy on how in the world all these details came together without me having any idea. I love this picture, and the expressions on both our faces. Good one, Jesse.
Here's the proudest moment of Jeremy's life. He's now the owner of TWO toilet brushes. I'm keeping a close eye on them to make sure they don't "mysteriously" disappear.
Loving the bow tie and hair bow, courtesy of David Lupo and Abby Stroud. The perfect accessories to our happy celebration!
Here's Noah and Julia, hard work on the fashion trend that's sure to be seen on European runways next spring. Princess Kate has nothing on Noah!
And, as most high fashion models usually do, Noah accompanies his wardrobe with some serious ATTITUDE. Work it, Noah. Work it.
Can you tell surprises make me slightly manic? Loving this gift from the Dorfners...loved getting showered with money even more! What a cute idea.
And a look at all the generous gifts. Also, I can't believe I wore Abby's bow in my hair the entire time. I must've been totally distracted by the gifts. Classic!
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. I can't wait to tell the story of our surprise shower in 20, 30, 40 years to whoever will still listen to it!

The surprise begins. I think this is the point when I said, 'it smells like church.' I was right!
