Youth News, 7/26

Riverdogs Outing: We're headed to the Riverdogs game THIS Friday (July 27)...as in tomorrow!  There's still time to reserve a ticket.  The cost is $8 and we'll be meeting at Hibben for a little pre-game cookout at 5:00pm.  We'll eat dinner and then head to the game with our friends from Redbank UMC in Lexington.  You might have met some of these guys at Lexington Salkehatchie, and they're in town for the weekend!  We'll return to the church after the game (and fireworks!), around 10:30pm.  E-mail Elizabeth (econnell@hibbenumc.org) ASAP to save your spot.

UMYF Sunday (7/29): All 7th – 12th graders are invited for our last meeting of July, this Sunday from 6-8pm in the CLLC. We’ll have dinner, play games, and have a lively, non-violent debate about violence. Leave your weapons at home.  See you there!

Boat Day: It's back by popular demand!  Boat Day will be on August 5 from 1:30 - 5:30pm.  Drop-off and pick-up will be at Remley's Point boat landing.  There is no cost to attend, but you MUST reserve your space so we're sure to have enough room on the boats.  E-mail Elizabeth to save your seat (econnell@hibbenumc.org).  If you'd be willing to lend your boat and captaining skills to the event, please contact Brad Nyers at 881-5901.

UMYF meals needed:  If your family is able to provide dinner for 20 people on one of the following dates for UMYF, please e-mail Elizabeth (econnell@hibbenumc.org).  Dinner is served at 6pm and is needed on:  August 12, August 19, August 26, September 9, September 16, and September 23.  Help us keep this wonderful tradition alive!

Some calendar notes:
Promotion Sunday for Sunday School will be on August 19 at 9:15 in the sanctuary.
Family Paddle, August 26: sponsored by Hibben's Health and Wellness Committee, this sounds like a really fun event!  Check out Hibben Happenings for more info on Sunday.
Saturday, September 29: Charleston District Youth Rally!  It's going to be an amazing day with other UMC's in the Charleston District at James Island County Park.  We'll spend the day playing before worship and dinner.  Make new friends and have fun outside!  More details coming soon.
February 15 - 17: Revolution in Columbia!  Details coming soon - mark your calendar and get ready for a fun-filled, God-filled weekend.
