UMYF News, 9/23

We've got a busy weekend ahead in UMYF-land...take a look and jump in where you're able!

Youth Room Painting! This Saturday (Sept. 26) from 10am - 3pm. We need all hands on deck to help spruce up our beloved youth room. We'll turn the music up too loud, I promise. Consider it training for Salkehatchie 2010. And yes, lunch will be served.

Youth Council Team Meetings: Sunday (Sept. 27) from 5 - 6pm in the CLLC. If you're on a YC team or want to get involved, join us! There is some amazing planning taking place and we need YOUR input.

UMYF Sunday: The painting continues at UMYF on Sunday. The walls will have a fresh coat, so the next step is to make some artwork to display. Wear clothes that can get messy and prepare to leave your mark on the youth room!

Revolve in Charlotte: This Sunday (9/27) is your LAST CHANCE to sign-up at attend Revolve in Charlotte, October 2 and 3. All 7th - 12th grade girls are invited to attend this weekend of music, speakers, drama and FUN. Cost is $100 per person and we'll leave after school on 10/2. Waterfront Park Re-cap!

We had such fun at Waterfront Park last Sunday night during MYF! Thanks to the Nyers family for providing a wonderful picnic, which was the perfect start to a great night. We walked the fishing pier, played football, Frisbee, and explored the beautiful park. We'll definitely be back! Take a look at these pictures:

Sandwich Makers Needed! I'd love some help this Sunday (9/20) at 5:30pm to make sandwiches for a Wesley Foundation event to be held at Hibben on Monday. We'll meet in the CLLC kitchen before heading to Waterfront Park. Come early if you can!

Youth Room Decor Day: The youth room needs a little TLC! We'll be painting, cleaning and rearranging on Saturday, September 26 from 10am - 2pm. We'll have plenty of supplies, but are in need of helping hands. Come help us freshen up our space!

September 13 Re-cap

We had some great conversation last Sunday night at UMYF about what happens to our relationships with God with life gets BUSY! With school, work, sports and other activities, often our quiet time with God is the first thing we drop when our schedules get full. We talked about the importance of pursuing and improving our relationships with God, even when life is crazy (ESPECIALLY when life gets crazy).

So, how have you done this week? Have you been able to carve out some time to pray, read the Bible, and sit quietly before God? I hope so!
