Youth News, 4/5

Happy Holy Week!  I hope you're able to take some time over the next few days to reflect on this holiest of holy times in the life of the church.  I'm looking forward to seeing you all on Easter Sunday!  Please see the following announcements - there are lots of good ones!

UMYF Schedule and meals needed:  Please make note of the UMYF schedule for the rest of April…hope to see you there!  Also, if you can provide dinner for one of the meetings listed below, please e-mail me.
April 8 – No UMYF, Happy Easter!
April 15 – UMYF from 6-8pm in the CLLC (Dinner needed!)
April 22 – Instead of UMYF, we’ll attempt to dominate the Kickball Game at the Family Picnic at Palmetto Islands County Park from noon – 3pm.  There will be no UMYF that evening, since we’ll still be basking in the glow of our victory.  That trophy sure will look good in our new Youth Room!
April 29 – UMYF from 6-8pm in the CLLC (Dinner needed!)

Debbie Hokum Dedication:  Parents and youth, please make plans to attend the dedication of the youth room refurbishment to the memory of Debbie Hokum on Sunday, April 22 during Sunday School.  We will enjoy coffee and pastries in our new and improved space before a time of remembrance and prayer.  All are invited and encouraged to attend what promises to be a special time!

Salkehatchie!  The deadline to register for Salkehatchie has passed, so I hope you got your forms and payment to the state office!  If you still intend to go this summer, please let me know so I can make sure there is space at the camp of your choice.  If you have registered, please check the list below for your name so we can begin making transportation arrangements.  If your name needs to be added, please e-mail me!
Spartanburg (June 16 – 23): Jacob Hand, Tyler Collins, Lauren Nyers
Lexington (July 7 – 14): Gina Fennell, Caleb Fennell, Grace Fennell, Elizabeth Connell, Jake Jones, Sarah Doll, Ashtyn Scully, Rachel Hannan, Donny Roberts, Megan Yaeger, Jordan Yaeger, Devin Donaldson, Ian Kilpatrick, Julia Woodward, Anna Woodward

Class of 2012:  If you or a loved one is graduating from high school this year, please notify me by phone (884-9761) or e-mail (econnell@hibbenumc.org) so we can be sure to include you in Graduation Sunday activities.  Please note: Graduation Sunday is scheduled for Sunday, May 13.

Vacation Bible School Volunteering!  This year, VBS will be June 10 – 13, and we need volunteers.  Youth – clear your schedules and lend a helping hand with Hibben’s youngest members.  Parents, your help is needed too!  Sessions will be in the evening on 6/10, and from 9am – noon 6/11 – 6/13.  More details coming soon!
